Rococo Venetian stucco in the Stucco 1000 Lucido version polishes up to a mirror gloss - one litre covers 5 m² with three coats.
You buy the stucco alone in 1 l and 4 l tins, and we bring the 12 l tin in to order; the base price refers to 1 litre. We tint the colour to your order from the sample board, and you can treat the 1-litre tin as a sample for testing the colour and the technique. The mirror on the wall does not come from the material alone but from the smoothing - so before you pick a colour, watch the video and assume the burnishing stage deserves the same care as the application. Darker shades show the gloss more strongly, so look at the sample board under the light the wall will actually live in.
What is Rococo Stucco 1000 Lucido Venetian stucco?
Rococo is a Valpaint Venetian stucco with a very smooth structure which, properly executed, imitates polished marble. The Stucco 1000 Lucido version has a very high degree of gloss - the iconic mirror effect is made with it. Freshly applied stucco is matte, and the gloss appears only at the smoothing and burnishing stage, with a trowel or a polisher. The product is intended for interior and exterior use, and thanks to its durability it is also used in the renovation of valuable surfaces of artistic and historical importance.

Where Venetian stucco shows its full potential
Rococo plays best where the wall is meant to look like polished marble:

Frequently asked questions about Rococo Venetian stucco
How many square metres does a tin cover?
With the standard three coats, 1 l covers 5 m², 4 l covers 20 m², and the 12 l tin, brought in to order, covers 60 m². Work out the exact quantity for your area with the calculator on this page.
How many coats go on, and how long does it dry?
The coverage is calculated for three coats. Surface drying takes 3-4 hours at 20°C and after that time you lay the next coat; final drying takes 24 hours.
When and with what do I polish the stucco?
You burnish with a trowel when the wall is cold but dry - best with a flexible Venetian trowel, a trapezoid trowel or a finishing blade. You switch to a machine polisher once the material is dry, that is about 12 hours after application or an hour after trowel burnishing. Grits 400 and 800 serve for sanding, and wet paper 1500, 3000 and optionally 4000 for polishing.
Do I need a primer under the stucco?
No - if the wall is clean, grease-free and primed, such a surface takes the stucco directly. In the ready-made 10 m² set the primer comes included, together with the wax.
How does Stucco 1000 Lucido differ from Stucco Veneziano 800?
Stucco 1000 Lucido, permanently on sale on this page, has a very high degree of gloss - the mirror effect is made with it. Stucco Veneziano 800 allows at most a satin sheen and we bring it in to order, which adds 2-3 days to the lead time. If the mirror is what you are after, choose type 1000 - of the two it is simply the better material for that effect.
Can I apply Venetian stucco myself?
Rococo in the mirror version is a material that shows the craftsman's hand - the gloss is born at the smoothing and burnishing stage, and that is where practice counts. For the mirror effect we recommend a professional. If you want to test your own skills, start with the 1-litre tin and practise the burnishing on a small surface before you commit to a whole wall.
How do I protect the stucco and clean it later?
Cera wax, available in our shop, protects the stucco and enhances the final effect. After application the wax is polished, which adds gloss and visual depth, makes cleaning easier and protects the surface against moisture, dirt and detergents.
How do I choose the colour, and can I return the stucco?
You choose the colour from the sample board - browse the shade tiles on this page, and you can borrow the physical sample board from us. The stucco is tinted to individual order, so mixed-to-order products are not returnable - which is why the 1-litre tin, available on this page, is the best trial of the colour and the technique.
The stucco is tinted to your individual order, so under Polish consumer law (art. 38.1.3 of the Consumer Rights Act) mixed-to-order stucco cannot be returned. Before you place the order, check the shade on the sample board and calculate the quantity - and test the colour and the technique with the 1-litre tin.
