What is the white marble effect with gold veins?
It's a decoration made with Stucco Venetian stucco by Pigio (Creativo series) — a plaster based on marble dust and polymers, polished all the way to a mirror finish. The white stucco creates the sheet of marble, gold leaf flakes (schlagmetal) build the gold veins, and the black stucco completes the pattern with fine black veins. We put the sets together for a specific wall area to make shopping easier — all the materials matched to your surface arrive in one kit:

Frequently asked questions about the white marble effect set
How many m² does the set cover and how was it calculated?
The set comes in five variants: from 7.5–8.5 m² up to 35.5–36.5 m² — the exact contents of each are listed in the Key Information section. Coverage is calculated from the white stucco, the base: two coats at approx. 0.25 kg/m². The black stucco (1 kg in every set) is vein décor and doesn't count toward coverage. The calculator on this page will match the right variant to your wall.
Why two coats, when stucco is usually applied in three?
The marble effect with veins is done in two coats of the white base — the calculation assumes approx. 0.25 kg/m² per coat, which sits within the typical stucco consumption of 0.2–0.3 kg/m² per coat. The black stucco is used only for the veins. Whatever the number of coats, apply each one as thinly as possible — the “zero” method; a coat that is too thick is an application error that can make the layers separate from each other during polishing.
Will the wax cover the whole set area?
Yes — according to the manufacturer's data, 1 kg of Monocera wax covers around 20 m², and the wax in each set is matched to that coverage. Skilled applicators can polish over 40 m² from a single tin. Remember that a machine polisher is needed for the full mirror effect.
How many flakes will I actually use for the gold veins?
Schlagmetal is very delicate — depending on vein width and skill, 20–40% of the flakes go to waste, and the set quantities account for this. The adhesive is used only for the flakes and comes with a surplus, as its consumption depends on vein width.
Can I do this effect myself and what tools do I need?
All you strictly need is a Venetian trowel and a cotton cloth; optionally, a paint roller or brush, masking tapes and films, and a low-speed polisher for the mirror effect will come in handy. What's the difference between schlagmetal and a metallizer?
Schlagmetal means gold leaf flakes — and that's what this set contains, applied with the flake adhesive. A metallizer is something else: a gold or silver paint, sold separately. If you prefer painted veins to glued flakes, look for a metallizer, not this set.
Which rooms is this effect suitable for?
The effect is intended for interiors — for statement walls and living rooms, it also works in bathrooms and kitchens, and because the stucco absorbs and releases heat, on fireplace finishes too.
Can I also get grey marble shades?
Yes — grey shades are easiest to achieve by mixing the black stucco with the white, with white dominating. It's best to measure the proportions on a scale.
