Tuff Tape for plasterboard joints

All types of tapes for connecting plasterboards. From the cheapest to the best.

Personally, I think you should be interested in at least red American tuff tape. The tuff tape hasn't cracked yet.

What types of tapes are there for connecting plasterboards?

I will list them in order from the best to the weakest.

  1. American Tuff Tape
  2. Paper tape applied by machine
  3. Fiberglass tape (mesh)
  4. Non-woven tape

The last two require reinforced plaster. Without this, the connection will definitely break.

How many types of American Tuff tape can you buy?

There are 4 basic tapes marked with different colors. They differ in thickness.

  • The Red is 0.40 mm thick (the most popular)
  • The green one is 0.50 mm thick
  • The orange one is 0.60 mm thick
  • The blue one is 0.60 mm thick

There are also tapes for arches, tapes for extensive cracks, tape for finishing the edges of the board, window tape, and 2 types of tapes with a stiffened composite insert.
