Description
Arteco 7 is a water-based decorative paint with a Venetian clay effect, intended for interiors - one litre covers 7-8 m² in a single coat.
You can treat the 1-litre tin as a sample for testing the application and seeing the colour in real life, before you order material for the whole room. We tint the colour to your order - you can browse the sample board on this page or borrow the physical one from us. For a larger area, work out the quantity with the calculator or send us the dimensions and we will prepare a quote.

What you will see in the video (3:29)
The producer’s time-lapse video shows the application of Arteco 7 decorative paint in colour 513 A1. It is a variant with the metallic L50 additive, so you can see the metallic sheen and the characteristic black flecks on the decoration.
Before you settle on a colour, look at the sample board in the light the wall will actually live in - Venetian clay reads differently depending on the lighting, and the metallic version even more so. One litre lets you practise the technique and see the chosen shade on your own wall before you buy material for the whole room.
What is Arteco 7 Venetian clay?
Arteco 7 is a water-based decorative paint that creates a Venetian clay effect on the wall. You apply it with a decorative brush and a plastic spatula, and the character of the finish is decided by the additives: without L50 the decoration is matte, with L50 it gains a metallic sheen, and gilded, silvered and colour-flake (P40) options are available too. Once fully cured, the coating is breathable and resistant to impacts and normal wear. This is a product intended for interiors.
What the 1-litre tin of Arteco 7 gives you
| Feature | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Coverage of 7-8 m² per litre in one coat | A litre is enough to test the colour and the technique, or to cover a smaller surface - calculate the material for a whole room with the calculator on this page. |
| Matte or metallic finish, with gilded and silvered options | One paint gives you either a calm matte or a metallic sheen - the character is decided by the L50 additive, which you choose together with the colour. |
| P40 colour flakes as an option at tinting | The additive enriches the texture of the decoration - you tick it on the same list as the colour, with the surcharge shown at selection. |
| Breathable coating once fully cured | The decoration does not seal the wall off from air, yet it takes impacts and normal wear - fit for walls people brush past every day. |
| Washable 15 days after application | You can wash marks off with water and ordinary detergents - just wait until the coating has fully matured. |
| Tools: a decorative brush and a plastic spatula | No specialist equipment and no crew - the complete toolkit is two items. |
Where Venetian clay works best
Arteco 7 is a versatile paint and shows best where the wall is meant to be the decoration, not the background:
- feature walls in living rooms and bedrooms, where the clay effect plays the main part;
- large surfaces - hallways and staircases, because the coating takes impacts and everyday wear;
- commercial and office interiors, where the finish is meant to impress people walking in;
- a single test wall before a bigger project - that is exactly what the 1-litre tin is for.

Frequently asked questions about Arteco 7
How far does 1 litre go, and when should I pick a bigger tin?
A litre covers 7-8 m² in a single coat, so it is enough to test a colour or cover a smaller surface. For a whole room choose the 2.5 l or 5 l tin, and if you are starting from a bare wall without a primer, the set with the primer paint is the most convenient option.
How much does a square metre of a Venetian clay wall cost?
The cost is the material plus the labour. Calculate the material for your area with the calculator on this page, as it depends on the surface and the chosen colour. As a reference, in Poland professional application usually costs 30-60 PLN per m² depending on the region - that rate covers painting the primer and the Arteco 7 clay, without wall preparation.
What does the L50 additive do, and what does P40 do?
L50 is a metallic additive - without it the decoration is matte and has none of the characteristic black flecks, with it the finish gains a metallic sheen along with those flecks. P40 is colour flakes that enrich the texture. You tick both additives on the selection list together with the colour when ordering.
Can I use Arteco 7 outdoors?
No, Arteco 7 is a paint intended for interiors. If you are looking for a facade decoration, write to us - the Valpaint range includes products intended for exterior use and we will help you pick the right one.
Can a painted wall be washed?
Yes, 15 days after application the paint takes gentle washing with water and ordinary detergents - before that the coating is still maturing. If the wall is meant to withstand scrubbing, protect it with a sealer: Finish V18 Opaco on the matte version, as it deepens the matte, or Finish V18 Lucido on a decoration with the L50 additive, as it brings out the sheen - a matte sealer would flatten the metallic effect. On a kitchen splashback - the strip of wall by the worktop that gets wiped after almost every cooking session - use the two-component Kit Top Coat lacquer, again in the opaco or lucido version, chosen by the same rule.
Can I apply Arteco 7 myself?
The paint is easy to apply, and the complete toolkit is a decorative brush and a plastic spatula. Watch the video above - it shows the whole application in time-lapse. If you have not worked with Venetian clay before, the 1-litre tin lets you practise the technique on a smaller surface before you take on a whole room.
How do I choose the colour?
We tint the colours from the Arteco 7 sample board - you can browse the shade tiles on this page, and borrow the Arteco 7 sample-board catalogue from us to check the shade in your own light. The surest test remains a litre of paint on your own wall, because it shows both the colour and the texture.
Can I return paint in my chosen colour?
We tint the paint to individual order, so colours prepared to order are not returnable. That is why, before you order a larger quantity, it is worth checking the sample board and testing the colour with the 1-litre tin.
Every colour is tinted to your individual order, so under Polish consumer law (art. 38.1.3 of the Consumer Rights Act) tinted paint cannot be returned. Before you place the order, check the shade on the sample board and calculate the quantity - and for your first contact with Venetian clay, start with the 1-litre tin.
Sample board photographs are for illustration only and may differ slightly from the real colours, which is affected by monitor and graphics card settings.
