Description
Epoxy Varnish Epimal Laq
Epimal Laq is a transparent, water-dilutable, two-component epoxy varnish designed for decorative and protective coating of natural stone surfaces (e.g., sandstone) and artificial surfaces, including floors and metal surfaces.
It can also be used for the preservation of mosaic plasters and for protecting paint coatings, giving them gloss, increased abrasion resistance, and facilitating cleanliness maintenance.
Once dried, the coatings are characterized by gloss, transparency, high hardness, flexibility, and resistance to abrasion, cracking, water, and many chemicals. The varnish enhances the texture, color, and structure of natural stone. The product does not contain harmful solvents or heavy metals.
Surface Preparation and Application of Epoxy Varnish:
- Before application, the surface should be dry, clean, and degreased.
- Fresh concrete surfaces can be painted no earlier than 4 weeks after application.
- After adding the hardener to the varnish, mix thoroughly for at least 2 minutes.
- Avoid fast mechanical mixing to prevent air bubbles from forming.
- The varnish mixed with the hardener must be used within 2 hours.
- Apply thin, even layers, avoiding excess, which may extend drying time and cause white spots.
- To achieve a thicker layer or higher gloss, it is recommended to apply multiple coats.
- The varnish can also be used for stone impregnation by diluting with water in a 1:4 ratio (1 part varnish to 4 parts water) and applying 1-2 layers, depending on the needs.
