The Mavericks Valpaint set is a complete kit for a sea wave effect on the wall, covering up to 12 m² - professionals cover 10 m² with it on average. Inside you get two 0.5 l packs of Mavericks decorative paint (two colours of the mass in separate tins), 1 l of tinted Nautilus base paint and the L50 metallic additive.

What is the Mavericks Valpaint sea wave effect?
Mavericks Valpaint is an interior decorative paint with crystal particles that gives a luminescent finish and a three-dimensional colour effect resembling the movement of sea waves. The effect is built as a system: the tinted Nautilus base paint creates the background, and two colours of Mavericks applied alternately spread the crystals into waves.
The L50 metallic additive is responsible for the luminescence, which is why we include it in every set. Mavericks paint is ready to use and does not need thinning.

How to apply the sea wave effect step by step
- Prepare the wall: clean, dry, free from dust, grease and dirt, and primed as you would for a standard decorative top coat.
- Add about 10-15% water to the Nautilus base paint and mix thoroughly.
- Paint the wall once with the tinted Nautilus, using a roller with a 5 to 10 mm pile. The base paint creates the background of the effect, so do not skip this step.
- Wait 8 h at 20°C.
- Apply Mavericks with the duo brush using the cross method: alternately, with strokes up to 15 cm long, in all directions.
- Work in areas of 1 to 2 m², taking a small amount of the mass - the aim is to spread the crystals and build the waves.
- The surface is touch dry after 1 h and fully cured through after 24 h.
Instead of the duo brush, you can use two standard decorative brushes, one for each tin of Mavericks, alternately. This works if you already have experience with decorative effects - without it, I recommend the duo brush.

Can I skip the tinted Nautilus base paint?
No. The tinted base paint is required for this finish because it creates the background on which Mavericks builds the waves. That is why it comes in every set and we tint it together with the paint.
Can I create the wave effect myself, without experience?
Yes, if you use the duo brush - it carries both colours at once and the application does not require special skills. With two standard decorative brushes the effect will also work, but only if you are practised in decorative finishes. Watch the manufacturer's video on this page before you start.
What is the cross method used with Mavericks?
You apply the mass alternately, with strokes up to 15 cm long in all directions, in small amounts and in areas of 1 to 2 m². This spreads the crystals contained in the mass, and they create the wave effect. Every movement of the tool is shown in the manufacturer's video above.
Which rooms is Mavericks suitable for?
It is an interior decorative paint. It is most often used in living and dining rooms, and also in bedrooms and children's rooms. A wide colour palette lets you match it to different interior styles.
How do I choose the colour and can I return the set?
You choose the colour from the Mavericks sample book, and we tint the set to your order - that is why it cannot be returned. To avoid buying blind, borrow the sample book with the real colours: you send it back undamaged within 30 days and we refund its cost within 7 days, excluding delivery costs.
How does the set differ from Mavericks paint 2x0.5 l?
Mavericks paint 2x0.5 l is the white decorative paint on its own, without Nautilus base paint and without the L50 additive. The set has everything needed for the effect shown in the sample book: tinted paint, tinted base paint and the metallic additive.
We tint the set to your order. Products mixed in the tinting machine to the customer's specification cannot be returned under Polish consumer law (art. 38.1.3 of the Consumer Rights Act).
