Meteore 10 in other versions

The same material gives you plain concrete in a kit, the Vintage effect and the plaster bucket on its own - the prices on the tiles update automatically.

The Moon effect is built up in several stages, so before you order, look through the gallery and compare the shade on the Meteore 10 sample book - you can borrow the sample book from us, because the colour on screen is not the colour on the wall. Work out the area with the calculator on this page, and if you are unsure whether this decoration suits your room, give us a call - we will advise before you buy.

What is the Moon effect Meteore 10?

The Moon effect is a Valpaint wall decoration made with Meteore 10 plaster, in which you form pits with a trowel and a sponge roller, then smooth and seal the surface and bring the pits out with C100 Over glaze - the wall gets a three-dimensional, cratered texture like the surface of the moon. It suits modern interiors where the wall is meant to be the main feature of the room, not a background.

The kit contains all four products needed for this decoration, in amounts sized for 15 m² of wall: primer, plaster, sealer and glaze.

What the kit contains and what you get from it

FeatureWhat it means for you
Meteore 10 plaster - 12 lOne coat with a trowel over 15 m², ready material in your chosen colour - this is where you form the craters.
Primer 1200 - 2 lApplied with a roller, diluted as the pack instructs; dry after about 6 h, and then you can lay the plaster.
Protective sealer - 2 lCloses the texture before the glaze and protects the wall - apply it generously, patch by patch.
C100 Over glaze - 5 lApplied with a sponge and spread with a second sponge, it brings out the depth of the pits - this is what turns concrete into the Moon effect.
Complete kit for 15 m²You do not assemble the system from four separate listings - the amounts are sized for one area, and a larger wall is worked out with the calculator.

How to create the Moon effect step by step

  1. Dilute Primer 1200 with water as instructed on the pack and apply it with a roller in all directions.
  2. Wait for the primer to dry - about 6 hours.
  3. Apply Meteore 10 with a trowel, evenly, so the whole surface dries at the same rate.
  4. Form the pits with a large-pore sponge roller or a trowel.
  5. Check by touch that the plaster is dry - if your finger comes away wet, wait longer.
  6. Spray the wall with water and smooth the decoration with a trowel in all directions.
  7. Protect the decoration with the sealer - generously, patch by patch, very thoroughly.
  8. Once the sealer is dry, apply C100 Over glaze with a sponge, then spread it with a second sponge and pick up the excess material.

Where the Moon effect makes the biggest impression

  • The wall behind the TV or the bed - one surface that carries the whole arrangement.
  • Living rooms and halls in modern homes, where smooth walls look too flat.
  • Service premises, restaurants and offices that want to stand out with texture, not colour.
  • Interiors where light falls on the wall at an angle - the pits then throw clear shadow and depth.

The other textures on this material are gathered in the Decorative effects for the wall category.

In Related products you can buy the kit components separately: Meteore 10 plaster, Primer 1200, Finish V18 sealer and C100 Over glaze - useful when you are covering more than 15 m² or running out of one of them.

Questions about the Moon effect Meteore 10 kit

How many square metres does the Moon effect kit cover?

The kit is sized for 15 m² of wall: 12 l of Meteore 10 plaster, 2 l of Primer 1200, 5 l of C100 Over glaze and 2 l of sealer. For a larger area, the calculator on this page works out how many kits or which components to add.

How long does the Moon effect take to make?

Count on several stages with drying breaks: the primer dries for about 6 hours, then the plaster must be dry to the touch before you smooth it, and the glaze goes on only after the sealer has dried. Plan the work over more than one day.

Can I do the Moon effect myself?

It is a multi-stage decoration: pits, smoothing, sealer and a glaze worked with two sponges - the look depends on the hand, not the product. If you have trowel experience, you will manage with the instructions above; if not, we recommend a professional decorator.

What do you make the pits with in the Moon effect?

With a large-pore sponge roller or a trowel, on freshly applied Meteore 10. Once the plaster is dry you spray the wall with water and smooth it with a trowel, which softens the edges of the pits, and the C100 Over glaze then brings out their depth.

Which rooms is the Moon effect suitable for?

Best for interiors where the wall is meant to be the decoration - living room, bedroom, hall, service premises. The texture is pronounced and three-dimensional, so on small, cramped walls it can overwhelm; if you are unsure about your room, call us before you buy.

Which colour should I pick for the Moon effect and can the kit be returned?

You choose the plaster shade from the Meteore 10 sample book, which you can borrow from us - the gallery photos show the effect, but do not replace comparing the sample book in your own light. We tint the plaster to order, so tinted colours cannot be returned; work out the quantity with the calculator so you do not buy surplus.

How does the Moon effect differ from the plain Meteore 10 concrete effect?

Plain concrete is one smooth coat of plaster under a sealer. In the Moon effect you form pits in the same material and, after the sealer, apply C100 Over glaze, which brings out the three-dimensional texture - hence the extra 5 l of glaze in the kit and more stages of work.

We tint the plaster to your order. Colours prepared to the sample book are made to your individual specification and, under Polish consumer law (art. 38.1.3 of the Consumer Rights Act), cannot be returned. Look through the gallery, check the shade on the sample book and work out the quantity with the calculator on this page before you order.

Photos and colour tiles are for guidance only - the colour on screen is not the colour on the wall.
