How many quartz panels do you need for your area?

For your area you need roughly: about 2.5 panels per m², 0.5 kg of tinted primer per m² (you prime the whole wall with it for adhesion - being tinted, its colour shows in the joints), 0.8 kg of adhesive per m², and if you varnish - 8-10 m² per litre of varnish per single coat. The calculator below works it out for you and suggests how many packs to buy. Add about 10% for cutting waste.

The fastest way to check the quantities is the calculator - enter your area (or work it out from the wall dimensions) and you will see how many panels, how much primer, adhesive and optional varnish to buy. Below I explain where these figures come from and what affects consumption. What's more, with one click you can send your configuration for a quote. You will receive the quote within 48 hours, and our email quotes are very detailed.

There is an FAQ at the end - the shortest answers on how many panels, how much primer, adhesive and varnish per m².

{KALKULATOR PANELE KWARCOWE}

1. Material per m²

All the figures come from the Guardi technical data sheets. The calculator uses exactly these conversions.

MaterialPer 1 m²Note
Quartz panels (45 × 90 cm)approx. 2.5 pcssold in full packs of 10 panels
Tinted primerapprox. 0.5 kgprimes the whole wall; colours the joints
Gel adhesive0.5-0.8 kgapply with a 4 mm notched trowel
UV facade varnish8-10 m²/l per coat2 coats recommended, often 1 in practice

2. How to measure the area

If you do not know the area, here is how to work it out in 4 steps:

  1. Measure the height and width of each wall and multiply them - you get square metres.
  2. Add up the areas of all the walls to be finished.
  3. Subtract windows, doors and parts that will stay without panels.
  4. You can add about 10% waste for cuts and pattern matching - enter this value into the calculator.

The calculator will be developed into a much more advanced form, where you enter each wall separately - we care about precise calculations.

3. What affects consumption

The calculator result is a good starting point, but real consumption depends on a few things:

  • Evenness of the substrate - the more uneven, the more adhesive goes on while levelling.
  • Joint width - we usually assume a 5 mm joint, kept even with spacers. The manufacturer considers the panels look best with a 10 mm joint. Joint width slightly changes panel consumption.
  • Number of cuts - lots of windows, corners and edges increase waste, hence the margin (you will usually use the surplus elsewhere).
  • Varnish: 1 or 2 coats - full protection is two coats, so twice as much varnish as one. In practice, though, most contractors and clients stick with a single coat. Each extra coat is added protection, but the varnish also affects the panels' level of gloss.

Test the varnish on an offcut - make 3 samples, with one coat, two coats and, out of curiosity, three coats. Look at them in shade and in sunlight to see which version you prefer.

The order and technique of installation are described in the step-by-step installation guide.

Materials and the ready-made kit - in the shop

4. Example: 24 m² = the ready-made kit

In the shop we have put together an optimal kit for 24 m² (without an extra margin). With it you use up the packs of adhesive, primer and varnish right down to zero. In Poland it also qualifies for free delivery (valid in 2026 - after that, check with the shop's customer service).

FAQ - quantities

How many quartz panels are needed per 1 m²?

Roughly about 2.5 panels/m² with the 45 × 90 cm format. For 24 m² that is about 60 panels (6 packs of 10). Add ~10% for cutting waste.

How much primer and adhesive are needed per square metre?

Tinted primer about 0.5 kg/m². You prime the whole wall with it - that is what gives the panels their adhesion - and being tinted, its colour shows in the joints. Gel adhesive 0.5-0.8 kg/m² - in practice 0.8 kg/m² for full coverage of the panel back.

How much varnish is needed for quartz panels?

8-10 m²/l per single coat. Because two coats are applied, for 24 m² that is about 5 l for two full coats (a 2.5 l pack covers one coat over 24 m²).

How much spare material should you add?

Usually about 10% for cutting waste and pattern matching. Buy the panels for the whole area at once, as batches can differ slightly in shade.

What affects material consumption?

Substrate evenness (more adhesive on uneven walls), joint width (primer use) and the number of cuts at windows and corners. The calculator result is an indicative starting point.
