Structural decorative paint Deserto tester, sample
Deserto Pigio decorative structural paint is an Italian product with a modern, pearly shine that suits any decor.
Description
It is the same paint as in the full tins and in the set, tinted to the colour you are considering. We pack it in a substitute container, as the manufacturer does not offer such a small size.
After the test: set, paint or brush
Once the colour is confirmed, the set tile takes you to the complete kit with primer, and prices on the tiles update automatically.

What you will see in the video (2:12)
The video shows step by step how to paint with gold Deserto pearl structural paint. The first decorative effect is visible at 1:50, as the paint starts to dry.
Paint the sample where the finish is going to be and look at it in different light - the colour of the light in the room affects the pearl sheen of Deserto. If you are torn between two shades, order two testers and compare them side by side. Have a question about the colour or how much paint you need for the whole wall? Give us a call and we will advise.
What is the Deserto paint tester?
The Deserto structural paint tester is a 50 ml sample of Pigio's popular pearl decorative interior paint, ready to apply. It lets you check the colour and effect before you commit to a larger amount of paint.
Deserto is a semi-transparent paint with crystal additives that create a play of gloss and matt. On the wall it works as a system with Primer, needs no varnish and is water-based.

Frequently asked questions about the Deserto tester
What area can I paint with the Deserto tester?
The tester contains 50 ml of paint. At a coverage of 8-10 m² per litre, it is enough for a sample of about 0.4-0.5 m² - enough to judge the colour and texture in real life.
Is the tester the same paint as in the Deserto set?
Yes, the tester contains exactly the same Deserto structural paint that we sell in full tins and in the set, tinted to the chosen colour. That way the sample reliably shows the effect you can expect on the wall.
Do I need a primer for the Deserto tester?
The tester contains Deserto paint only, without primer. On the finished wall Deserto sits on Primer tinted to its colour, and as it is semi-transparent, the primer helps create the shade - keep this in mind when judging the sample.
How quickly will I see the effect on the sample?
Deserto dries in 20 to 60 minutes, and the first effect appears while it dries - in the video above it shows at 1:50. It is fully dry after about 6-12 hours.
What should I use to paint the Deserto sample?
Apply Deserto with a decorative brush in long strokes - the direction, method and amount of paint determine the effect, and there are many ways to paint it. Primer is applied with a paint roller. A paint stirrer and masking tape are also useful.
Why is the tester in a different tin from the paint?
The manufacturer does not offer such small tins, so we pack the tester ourselves in a substitute container. Inside is the same Deserto paint as in the full tins.
Which interiors is Deserto suitable for?
Deserto works in rooms, living rooms and hallways, as well as in restaurants, hotels, clinics and conference rooms. It is washable and abrasion-resistant, so it also suits kitchens.
Which paints is Deserto similar to?
Deserto's effect is compared with Perla Sabbia by Magnat, Corado by Ecorson, Guardi paints, Glasser by Luxmal and Sabulador by Valpaint. What sets it apart from the popular Sahara is higher scrub resistance and a texture that is softer to the touch - the tester lets you check this yourself.
Can I return the Deserto tester?
No. We tint the tester to the colour chosen with your order, and paint prepared to individual order cannot be returned.
Colours in photos are for guidance only - your screen, its settings and graphics card can slightly alter how a shade looks, while the tester shows it for real.
