KD Panel Bolix – Dispersion Adhesive for Installing Decorative Panels

KD Panel Bolix is a high-quality, ready-to-use adhesive compound based on polymer dispersions, designed for bonding Bolix Wood Effect Panels and Bolix Ribbed Effect Panels.

The product provides excellent adhesion, high flexibility, and easy application, making it a key component in the installation of decorative wall claddings both on exterior façades and interior surfaces.

Key features of KD Panel adhesive:

• High flexibility – compensates for stresses in the substrate and panels, increasing installation durability.
• Very good adhesion to mineral substrates, ETICS reinforced layers, and gypsum-based surfaces.
• Easy and fast application – convenient application with a notched trowel.
• Ready-to-use product – no need to mix with additional components.
• Suitable for both interior and exterior use.

Suitable substrates:

• reinforced layers of ETICS insulation systems (EPS, mineral wool),
• concrete, cement and cement-lime plasters,
• cement-fibre and cement-chip boards,
• gypsum plasterboards,
• gypsum plasters.

The substrate must be:

• load-bearing, even, dry, and clean,
• free from dust, loose particles, grease, bitumen, algae, and anti-adhesive substances,
• free from weak or delaminated layers.

Preparation of KD Panel adhesive:

• The adhesive is supplied as a ready-to-use compound.
• Before application, mix thoroughly using a low-speed mixer (400–500 rpm).
• Do not mix excessively – risk of air entrainment.
• In summer conditions, dilution with water up to 300 ml per 30 kg of adhesive is allowed – the same amount for each container.
• Do not add any other substances.

Application method

Adhesive application

• Apply using a 6×6 mm notched trowel.
• Work the adhesive into the substrate and spread perpendicular to the panel installation direction.

Panel installation

• First, leave a gap of approx. 5 mm,
• Then slide the panel into position and press it firmly into the adhesive.
• Remove excess adhesive with a brush, spatula, or damp sponge.

Pressing

• Press the panel with a wallpaper roller to remove air bubbles and ensure full adhesion.

Working time

• Panels must be installed within a maximum of 10 minutes after adhesive application.

Panel layout depending on type

• WOOD EFFECT PANEL: horizontal installation, staggered vertical joints.
• RIBBED EFFECT PANEL: vertical installation, following the direction of the ribs.

Execution guidelines

• Apply the adhesive on cement or cement-lime plasters after 3–4 weeks of curing, and on gypsum plasters after at least 2 weeks.
• Do not use on surfaces exposed to prolonged contact with water, standing snow, or capillary moisture.
• During installation and drying, protect the surface from sunlight, wind, and precipitation.
• Do not allow skin formation on the adhesive – this may cause panel detachment.
• Do not bond panels using the “spot bonding” method.
